Hey there, I’m Shawn Jain. I’m an actor and communications professional.
I received my master's degree in acting in 2018 at the American Repertory Theater / Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. I am based in New York City.
Prior to entering grad school, I lived in Washington, D.C. for four years, where I received my certificate from the Honors Acting Conservatory at the Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts. I have had the privilege to act in productions with New Repertory Theater, Merrimack Repertory Theater, Constellation Theatre Company, Rorschach Theatre, Theatre Du Jour, the Source Festival, Young Playwrights Theater, and more. You can see my resume, which I update frequently, here.
Before changing paths to pursue acting full-time, I had a 7-year career in mainly nonprofit marketing, communications, and advocacy. I served as Director of Communications at Whitman-Walker Health, Washington, D.C.’s leading LGBT health center. I also worked as a Media Strategist at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Currently, I am the Brand Development Coordinator at a cancer research foundation.
I received my B.A. with Highest Honors in Political Science, Spanish, and South Asian Studies from UC Berkeley.
